But probably not. The universe is so big the chance is that we are not the only life out there.
After travelling for longer than 36 years and covering a distance of nearly 12 billion miles, the space probe Voyager 1 has finally entered interstellar space. This is nothing compared to the size of the universe or the distance between galaxies. Unless there is a big jump in technology we are unlikely to talk or even know about them. All radio waves that have been broadcast on earth have been moving through space. If you go fast enough (ignoring physics here) you could listen to on a radio the first BBC broadcast. But these have hardly traveled any distance really. Even though they are moving at the speed of light.
It is highly probable that aliens exist or existed somewhere. I can’t imagine such a huge universe only for us. What a waste of space!
That said, the fact the universe is so big makes it highly probable other living beings have existed. On the other hand, the fact the universe is so big makes also very difficult (unfortunately) to bump into them.
