• Question: Do you think the love of science is genetic? Because my sister and I both love science and both want to pursue a job in science.

      Hi!

      I think it depends more on the environment you grew up in (family, school, friends…) rather than on genetics. You and your sister not only share part of the genetic code, but you also grew up in a similar environment.

      I agree with Stef

      Environment plays a bigger part. If you grew up and others in the family were interested, then this enthusiasm would rub off onto you. Though it does not always work that way.

      It might be. But I guess environment plays an important role as well.

      So love of science is not genetic only but it can be contagious too!

      The five of us have all this virus of love of science and we might end up to “contaminate” some of you!!!

      I’m glad you and your sister both want to be scientists, but I don’t think it’s genetic. The children of some very famous scientists have gone on to be journalists or historians!

      Good luck in the future and maybe we’ll work together one day!
