      Hi Trudy!

Up until I was in Year 9 I wanted to be a vet, but then I started finding physics and maths more enjoyable so I wanted to be a scientist from then.

If I was to change anything about my younger self it would be to be more confident, and to be happier with who I was. (I didn’t realise how awesome I was until I went to university 😉 )

Because not only is Everything Awesome, Everyone is Awesome in their own way!

      Hi Trudy,

As my time is spent with computing, you may or may not think I am a scientist. As though I experiment it is not in a lab. I have not always wanted to be one. As a kid I liked the idea of being an engineer, but I think the job found me. I only found it by looking in a magazine called New Scientist and I was not looking for a job at the time. It was just an opertunity I could not miss. But two and a bit years working at Diamond I would not change a thing. All your life experiences make you who you are both good and bad. I am quite happy where I have ended up.

      Hi Trudy!

Yes, I think I always wanted to be a scientist, even though at first it wasn’t very clear to me which field I was most interested in: I first wanted to become a biologist, then a geologist, then an astronomer and finally a physicist. Only during the second year of university I chose my specialisation field, which is optics and lasers.

If I could change something about my younger self, it would be to be less shy (I was very shy – luckily I have been improving a little bit since then).

I always wanted to be a doctor – and now I am!

I think I would change a few things:
Do more sports when I was younger because it’s important to stay fit, and it only gets harder as you get older!
Practice harder at music – because I’d be amazing by now if I’d worked harder at it before.
Have more adventures – why not?
