• Question: Is there a chance we will live In space

      Hi Bob (just Bob)

      A very small number of people do live in space. The astronauts on the International Space Station live there for about 6 months at a time.

      I also think we will have a permanent station on the moon in the next 100 years, although I think we need to figure out a cheaper way of getting there!

      I also think one day we will build a space ship that will travel to other stars, but it will probably travel very slowly so it will need to carry several hundred people, and they would live, and have families and be on the ship for generations before they got to another habitable planet around another star.

      There is a project at the moment to send people to Mars. Lots of people have volunteered and I think they are very brave, because it will be a one way trip, they would never come back to Earth.
