I think you mean Climate Change.

The effects are very small when you look around you, but very big when you look at the weather across the whole world. Very slowly the temperatures are getting hotter and hotter around the world, and this means more and more ice is melting at the north and south pole. Some scientists are worried this could lead to very big changes in our weather, changes so big that humans might be in trouble.

Just looking for a nice description I found this. Thinking back to when I had to know about this.

Climate zones can be categorised in a number of different ways but commonly used climate zones include: temperate, polar, arid, mediterranean, tropical and mountainous. A number of different factors affect the climate in each zone. These include: Latitude – areas closest to the equator are generally warmer.

So because of the way the earth is we have these areas, the earth is not evenly heated so we get hot and cold areas. This effects weather patterns as hot and cold air moves round the globe. This pushes wetter air over water to land where the change in pressure makes it rain, to give a simple example.

So though this is not the mechanism of why climate on earth is the way it is it only describes the results. Putting what is observed into catagories. But the effect of these areas work with each other to partly explain and contribute to global weather.

Again I am no expert in this, so others may want to add to this. It also sounds like I might have answered your homework question, though I may be wrong. 🙂

um, this is the Light zone, not the Climate zone 😉

But to answer what your question might have been…

Climate change: increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere traps more energy in the atmosphere. This means the atmosphere gets hotter, winds get stronger, seas get hotter and ice caps melt.

The earth is a very complicated system, so changing these things can easily break something completely unpredictable.
